This is one of my favourite photos from Amsterdam. I walked by this spot nearly every day on the way to the hotel.

where do I start?
The van Gogh museum in Amsterdam had a "once in a lifetime" exhibit which ended on January 12, 2014. I found out about it on December 14 & was planning to go with my sister but sadly, she couldn't join me. I'm glad I went anyway. Needless to say, it was the least amount of planning to go into a trip that I've ever taken. Everything was pointing towards going though! I had to renew my passport before I left since I was short 6 months by 2 days on my return date. I was able to get photos within 15 minutes (even with Christmas rushes going on), I was in & out of the passport office in another 15 minutes (including parking time) and I picked it up 2 days before I left. What else did I need aside from a plane ticket or two?
Van Gogh was great. Below are a few images from the exhibit.
Then, of course, there's lovely Amsterdam.
Below is The Eye. I was told about it a day before I left. The restaurant inside is fantastic! I didn't see a show here but I'm glad I took the 2 minute ferry across to see it.
The bed in the reflection below is actually part of the light exhibit Amsterdam has every December / January. It was really odd to see it out of context (during the day). I actually laughed.
A couple from the light exhibit. They are scattered around Amsterdam (on a specific route). I didn't see them all.
