money shots?

Today was my first day of the Bryan Peterson workshop I am taking in Hoorn Holland. What a crazy weather day today. It was a long day & I'm ready for bed so I'm going to post quickly.

We (the students) had to go out & buy some tulips & make our own photos by setting things up for ourselves. We were to make them Dutch inspired and of course it was pouring rain when we headed out to do that this afternoon. It's a contest & there is some sort of prize which I'd love to win!

Ok, I had to take photos of the tulips, didn't I??

I took a few yesterday & more today. I found myself inspired by the tulips today which were drooped over. I could see the underside of them where the stem meets the base of the flower. I wanted to be closer but there's a point where you can't tell what the image is supposed to be.

I bought myself some tulips on Saturday. I love flowers & I love having them in my house. My boyfriend has never bought me flowers & he commented on my comment to his friend on Saturday when I said he's never bought me flowers. She basically gave him shit. Oh well babe, step up!

I drew these tulips the other day. They were all upright in the vase & looked great. They have since lost a few which have drooped (they still look good though!).

I used my Christmas gift from my sister to draw this. It was my ink brush pen. It's great but it is taking me a bit to get used to it. I suppose I should use it more often!

wrong season

Yesterday we in Calgary, AB woke up to a bunch of the white stuff which is not unusual for Calgary by any means. We have been known to get snow in every month of the year - which is nothing to boast about as far as I'm concerned!
So I went looking for some photo ops when I got home from the gym. I didn't need to walk far. Some of the condo residence here have their bikes outside & that's where the amount of snow that fell really showed well.

I like this image due to the snow on the lock & as well as the background. Basically, you can see items just poking out of the snow.

This really shows how blue the sky was yesterday morning. The snow did not last long on this tree!

And I like this just because the line up of bikes is so even.

Fun in the snow without making snowmen or snow angels. (:

April Fool

Today is April first also known as April Fool's Day. It is also my birthday. I was hoping to get out to sketch today but that just didn't happen and I'm okay with that. I had a lazy morning with my boyfriend & we went for brekky at Galaxie Diner on 11 Street SW, Calgary. The food there is fantastic & there's lots of it! And in the afternoon we went to hit golf balls at the dome (I'm learning to golf & he golfs already). It was fun; although, I don't think he felt he did very well. Next time! Tonight dinner at Brava Bistro with him & my sis & friends. All around a good & relaxing day.

What I like about birthdays is hearing from people I don't hear from all the time. I heard from two cousins, two aunts & a few friends that I normally don't chat with on a regular basis. Makes me wonder why though! All of the people in my life are all dear to me & I love them all. Maybe that can be my new year resolution - to keep up with friends & family I don't currently chat with often. I like doing new years resolutions on my birthday instead of on January 1. It is my new year after all!
